Terms of Service
Last updated: August 25, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using PeerTutor (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
During first-time account setup, the Service may require you to affirmatively accept these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy before your account is activated.
2. Who can use the Service
Public coursework is available without an account. Account access is invitation-based. Student tutoring features require account terms acceptance.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
4. The learning service
PeerTutor provides public course sequences, PeerTutor-authored checked practice, source links, and study-planning tools. It is not an open tutoring marketplace. Any future tutor pilot will operate through participating schools or approved organizations under separate program rules.
5. Tutor support status
Booking, direct tutor messaging, and live classrooms depend on enabled classroom infrastructure. Students must accept the account terms. Tutors must accept the account and tutor terms and pass mandatory tutor training before interacting with students. Public learning tools remain free to use.
6. Tutor obligations
Tutors must provide accurate information, accept the current account and tutor terms, complete mandatory tutor training, and follow the program safety rules before interacting with students. A profile does not itself mean a tutor is certified or licensed.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes not harassing other users, not posting unlawful or harmful content, not scraping or disrupting the Service, and not using it for anything other than legitimate learning or approved program activity.
8. User content
You retain ownership of the content you post but grant PeerTutor a license to display it as needed to operate the Service. We may remove content that violates these terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. The Service may contain bugs and should not be relied upon for critical needs.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PeerTutor and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
