Terms of Service
Last updated: June 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using PeerTutor (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
2. Who can use the Service
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. Learners under the age of majority should use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the account and any bookings made.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
4. The marketplace
PeerTutor is a marketplace that connects students with independent tutors. Tutors are not employees or agents of PeerTutor. We do not guarantee the quality, qualifications, or conduct of any tutor or student, and we are not a party to the agreement between a student and a tutor for any lesson.
5. Lessons and bookings
PeerTutor is free for everyone. The Service is provided free of charge: students never pay, tutors never charge, and there are no fees, rates, or payments of any kind. When you book a lesson, you simply reserve time with a tutor for the duration you select. Tutors share their expertise freely as a way to give back and build their reputation. Cancellation and rescheduling guidance is described in the help center.
6. Tutor obligations
Tutors agree to provide accurate profile information, hold any qualifications they claim, show up for confirmed lessons, and conduct themselves professionally. Tutors volunteer their time and are responsible for complying with applicable laws.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes not harassing other users, not posting unlawful or harmful content, not scraping or disrupting the Service, and not using it for anything other than legitimate tutoring.
8. Content and reviews
You retain ownership of the content you post but grant PeerTutor a license to display it as needed to operate the Service. Reviews must be honest and based on real experiences. We may remove content that violates these terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. The Service may contain bugs and should not be relied upon for critical needs.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PeerTutor and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
