Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide and information generated as you use the Service:

  • Account details — your name, email address, role (student or tutor), password (stored only as a secure hash), and time zone.
  • Profile content — bios, headlines, subjects, qualifications, availability, and any photo or video links you add.
  • Activity — lessons, messages, reviews, and notifications generated as you use the Service.
  • Technical data — limited logs such as IP address and browser type, used for security and to operate the Service.

2. How we use information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the marketplace, classroom, and messaging.
  • Match students with tutors and facilitate free bookings.
  • Send service notifications and important account emails.
  • Keep the Service safe, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.

3. What other users can see

Tutor profiles are public so students can find them, but we use public display names only (for example, “Nikhil”). We do not display your email address to other users. Messages are visible only to the participants in a conversation.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the Service (for example, with infrastructure providers that host the platform) or where required by law.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are essential to the Service, such as keeping you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. Public curriculum remains available without an account.

7. Your choices

You can review and update your profile and account information at any time from your account settings. Signed-in users can delete their account from Settings. If you cannot access your account, use our account deletion page for instructions.

8. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for use by adults, or by minors under the supervision of a parent or guardian who manages the account. We do not knowingly collect data directly from young children without appropriate involvement of a guardian.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
