    • Explain URLs, HTTP, DNS, browsers, servers, files, command line, editors, and version control.
    • Create a repeatable local workflow.

    Practice: Trace one page request from URL to rendered document and document a clean project setup.

    Semantic HTML and content structure

    • Use headings, landmarks, links, lists, tables, images, media, metadata, and meaningful document structure.
    • Choose elements by semantics, not appearance.

    Practice: Build a multi-page content site and audit its outline, landmarks, links, and alternative text.

    CSS foundations and layout

    • Use cascade, specificity, inheritance, box model, selectors, typography, color, Flexbox, and Grid.
    • Build stable layouts without brittle positioning.

    Practice: Recreate a responsive layout at three widths and explain the sizing and layout constraints.

  4. 04

    Responsive design and accessibility

    • Use fluid sizing, media queries, responsive media, focus order, keyboard access, labels, contrast, and reduced motion.
    • Test against common access needs.

    Practice: Complete keyboard, screen-reader structure, contrast, zoom, and mobile audits and fix every failure.
